Can you eat before a workout?
In general, it’s best to eat 3 hours prior to working out so the carbs that you have eaten have time to turn into blood glycogen. However, it’s fine to eat 2 hours before working out, or even 1, as long as the amount of food is adjusted. As you get closer to zero hour what you’re eating should become more reliant upon carbohydrates. If it’s an hour before, go for a light snack that’s mainly carbohydrate. Avoid eating during the hour before working out, unless it’s something like half a banana or some yogurt.
